In preparation for the Oregon Conference on Opioids + Other Drugs, Pain + Addiction Treatment (OPAT) scheduled for November 8–10, 2021, Oregon Health Authority and Lines for Life is presenting the second of three 90-minute webinars exploring the rise of the stimulant use crisis in tandem with the ongoing opioid crisis.
In this webinar, Richard A. Rawson, Ph.D. will present a literature review on the epidemiology and effects of stimulant use, including neurobiological effects of methamphetamine on the brain, methamphetamine and pregnancy, and new strategies for reversing methamphetamine overdoses. Dr. Rawson will also discuss clinical challenges to treating methamphetamine use including barriers to seeking treatment and dropout rates along with evidence-based treatments including Contingency Management.
